Getting Armorsmith Designer running on your PC takes about five minutes. You purchase the app on Gumroad, download and run the installer, and then enter your serial number to activate. The installer handles all required dependencies automatically, so you do not need to install DirectX or any runtime libraries separately.
Before you begin, confirm your PC meets the minimum requirements: Windows 10 or higher (64-bit), a DirectX 11 capable GPU, and at least 2 GB of RAM. See System Requirements for the full breakdown.

Installation steps

1

Purchase on Gumroad

Go to the Armorsmith Designer page on Gumroad and complete your one-time purchase. After checkout, Gumroad sends you a confirmation email and adds the download to your Gumroad library. Your serial number is displayed in your Gumroad purchase dashboard — keep it handy for Step 5.
2

Download the installer

Log in to your Gumroad account, open your Library, and locate the Armorsmith Designer purchase. Alternatively you can follow the link in your receipt email. Click the download button to save the installer file to your PC.
3

Run the installer

Double-click the installer file and follow the on-screen prompts. The installer places the application in C:\Program Files\Armorsmith Designer 2\ and automatically installs the required DirectX and Visual C++ runtime components. Accept any User Account Control (UAC) prompts that appear during installation.
4

Launch Armorsmith Designer

Open Armorsmith Designer from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut created by the installer. The application will open to the activation screen on first launch.
5

Enter your serial number

Type or paste your email and serial number into the activation field and click Activate. Your serial number is found in your Gumroad purchase dashboard under the Armorsmith Designer purchase or in your Purchase confirmation email. Once activated, you are taken directly to the main costume viewport.
Where to find your serial number: Log in to Gumroad, open your Library, and click on the Armorsmith Designer purchase. Your serial number is listed on the purchase detail page. You can also find it in the original Gumroad purchase confirmation email.
DLL error at launch? If Armorsmith Designer shows a missing DLL error when you open it, run the Visual C++ redistributable installer bundled with the app: C:\Program Files\Armorsmith Designer\System\VC_redist_x64_2022.exe. Restart Armorsmith Designer after the installer finishes.

Updating Armorsmith Designer

You do not need to repurchase to get updates. To update to the latest version, open Armorsmith Designer and choose Help → Check For Updates, or return to your Gumroad library and download the latest installer directly. See the Licensing guide for more details on updates and your purchase.
