# Update Armorsmith Designer and Recover Your License

> Learn how to update Armorsmith Designer, retrieve a lost serial number, and activate your license on a new or replacement Windows PC.

Armorsmith Designer uses a one-time purchase model through Gumroad. Your serial number is your license — it activates the software on your machine and entitles you to all future updates at no extra cost. If you need to update the app, recover a lost serial number, or move to a new PC, everything you need is covered below.

<Accordion title="How do I update Armorsmith Designer?">

</Accordion>

<Accordion title="I lost my serial number">

  To find it:

  1. Log in to [gumroad.com](https://gumroad.com).
  2. Go to **Purchases** and find **Armorsmith Designer** — your serial number is displayed on the purchase details page.

  If you no longer have access to that email address, contact support at [TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com](mailto:TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com) for assistance.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Do I need to pay for updates?">
  No. Armorsmith Designer is a one-time purchase that includes all future updates. Once you've bought it, you can update to any newer version at no additional cost using either of the methods described above.

<Accordion title="Activating Armorsmith on a new PC">
  You can transfer your license to a new machine by re-entering your serial number during first launch.

  To activate on a new PC:

  1. Install Armorsmith Designer on the new machine.
  2. When prompted for a serial number, enter the one from your Gumroad account.
  3. If you need to look up your serial number, log in to [gumroad.com](https://gumroad.com), go to **Purchases**, and find it under **Armorsmith Designer**.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="I'm getting a license error">
  License errors are usually caused by a typo in the serial number or an issue with the activation server.

  Steps to resolve:

  1. Double-check your serial number against the one shown in your Gumroad account — watch for zeros vs. the letter O, and ones vs. lowercase L.
  2. Make sure you are entering the serial number exactly as shown, including any hyphens.
  3. Check that your internet connection is active, as activation requires a connection to verify your license.
  4. If the error persists, contact [TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com](mailto:TheArmoredGarage@gmail.com) with your purchase email and a screenshot of the error.
</Accordion>

<Note>
  All purchases and license information are managed through Gumroad. You can access your account, re-download the installer, and retrieve your serial number at any time by logging in at [https://gumroad.com](https://gumroad.com).
</Note>

<Tip>
  Save your serial number somewhere safe — such as a password manager or a dedicated notes file — as soon as you purchase. This makes it easy to retrieve if you ever reinstall, switch computers, or can't access your Gumroad account.
